Many fans believed Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn't be playing for Portugal again after their World Cup's collapse in December of last year. However, the Portuguese superstar raised his head once more and he looks ready to lead Portugal in another major tournament...
Cristiano Ronaldo has played in 10 major tournaments for the Portuguese National Team so far in his career, scoring at least one goal in each of those events. He looks set to extend that sequence to 11 at the upcoming Euro 2024, as the all-time Portugal goalscorer has no intention of retiring any time soon. Ronaldo has played at every major tournament since Euro 2004, with his latest participation being the World Cup 2022, in Qatar. On his debut at the European Championship 19 years ago, he helped his country reach the final where they were beaten by Greece, in a game hosted at the Estádio do Dragão, in Porto.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Waka waka:
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner got his hands on a major international trophy at Euro 2016, when Portugal defeated France in the final. The closest he has been to World Cup success came in 2006 when his country reached the semi-finals, but was beaten by France.
At the Euro 2024, Ronaldo will be 39 years old, however, he remains one of the fittest players in the sport. The forward, who joined Saudi club Al-Nassr earlier this year, still has the quality to make a big difference at major tournaments in international football.
Earlier this year, Ronaldo scored a brace in two of Portugal's Euro 2024 qualification games. He found the back of the net twice against Liechtenstein. He then scored the first and fourth goals in a 6-0 success against Luxembourg, bringing his tally for Portugal up to 122 goals.
Ronaldo is nearing his 200th game for his country. He picked up his 198th cap against Luxembourg. He will join a small group of international outfield players to reach that milestone should he continue to be a part of their qualification campaign in the upcoming months.
Portugal is currently ranked as the fifth best with a price of 10/1 in the outright online betting Zambia markets for the Euro 2024. Those odds indicate they will be one of the leading contenders next year. With a squad that also includes Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Dias, Joao Felix and Diogo Jota, they have plenty of players who feature for the best clubs in Europe.
OFFICIAL: Portugal have named Roberto Martinez as manager. 🇵🇹

After Portugal was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 2022, Roberto Martinez was appointed as their new manager. He has a lot of experience at major tournaments, as he was already the head coach of Belgium between 2016 and 2022.
As the host of the tournament, Germany is expected to be one of the main contenders for the trophy in 2024. Their last success in a major competition was in 2014 when they won the World Cup. Since then, their performances at the big events have been disappointing.
France lost on penalties to Argentina at the World Cup last year in what was an agonising defeat for Les Bleus. With a team that should have learned a lot from that experience, French supporters will be hoping they can go one place better in Germany.
Ronaldo is likely to be next in action for Portugal on the 17th of June when they take on Bosnia and Herzegovina in Lisbon. Just four days later, Ronaldo's country travels to Iceland for matchday four of their Euro 2024 qualification campaign.
