Cristiano Ronaldo blowing kisses to his fans

Throughout his professional career, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a total of 60 hat-tricks so far. The Portuguese legend, who has now moved to Saudi Arabia, will probably continue scoring goals for his new club, but we can always look back at some of his best moments on the pitch...

Cristiano Ronaldo has long been considered one of the greatest players to ever grace the football field, breaking records and lifting trophies year after year. Throughout his career, Ronaldo has scored 60 hat-tricks, making him one of the most prolific scorers of all time. Football betting for many years has been made easy when Ronaldo's on the pitch. Whenever Cristiano Ronaldo was confirmed to be in his team's starting lineup, betting on the Portuguese superstar scoring at least a goal was almost like placing your money on a sure bet. Here are five of his most iconic hat-tricks.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Hat-tricks to remember:

Juventus vs Atletico Madrid (2019)

Ronaldo has always had a knack for scoring against Atlético Madrid, with four career hat-tricks against the Spanish side. He usually scored against them when playing for Spanish rivals Real Madrid, but this one came in Juventus colors in the Champions League. In the round of 16, Juventus drew Atlético Madrid and succumbed to a first-leg defeat away at Madrid. The 2-0 defeat saw many lose hope for Juventus's chances in the second leg, but Ronaldo showed once again why so many call him the best in the world when he went on to score a hat-trick, propelling Juventus into the next round of the competition with a win of 3-2 on aggregate.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur (2022)

Throughout the 2021/22 Premier League season, United and Spurs had been battling it out for a top four spot which would guarantee a place in the Champions League the next season. The match between the two teams was highly anticipated, and it did not disappoint. Ronaldo opened the scoring with arguably his greatest goal of the entire season, but as the 35th minute came, Tottenham's talismanic striker, Harry Kane, made things all square. Only three minutes later Ronaldo gave United the lead once again, giving them the advantage as they went into half-time.

In the 72nd minute, Spurs equalized, and it looked as though the game was going to finish honors even, until Ronaldo stepped up and completed his hat-trick in the 81st minute. As he had done for so many years prior, Ronaldo stepped up, took charge, and saved the day at the vital moment, securing a full three points for the Red Devils.

Portugal vs Spain (2018)

The Group B qualifying group in the 2018 World Cup featured both Spain and Portugal, meaning that it was going to be very difficult for whoever was competing. The game between the two was one of the most highly anticipated in the group stages, and it turned out to be every bit as thrilling as expected. Ronaldo has always stepped up in the big games, especially when it comes to his beloved Portugal.

The game saw Ronaldo score his first-ever World Cup hat-trick, topped off with a direct free kick set-piece. The game finished all square, but it was remarkable for Cristiano to beat the Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea not once but three times during the period when he was revered as the greatest keeper in the world.

Real Madrid vs Wolfsburg (2016)

As we all know, the Champions League has always been home to some of the greatest players on the planet, making it one of the most exciting places to bet on football. This is one of the reasons it’s been the perfect home and showcase for Cristiano Ronaldo, featuring some of the greatest performances of his career. In the 2015/16 season, Wolfsburg was winning 2-0 on aggregate but the second leg of the round of 16 saw Ronaldo at his very best. The game saw Ronaldo put two goals away in quick succession just two minutes apart. Madrid went into the break with a two-goal advantage, but needed one more to cement their place in the next round of the tournament. The final goal came in the 77th minute, which for Madrid and Ronaldo became another one of their famous comeback victories.

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid (2017)

Spanish derby games are always full of atmosphere and passion, and the legendary Madrid derby is no exception, being one of the most highly anticipated games during the season. This derby is made all the more exciting if the match is a part of the Champions League. The two Spanish giants met in the semi-finals, adding even more pressure. The first leg was played in Santiago Bernabéu.

The Champions League had already been fruitful for Ronaldo, with a tally of eight goals under his belt having scored a hat-trick against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals. The game finished 3-0, with Atlético succumbing to the near-impossible challenge of scoring 4. Back-to-back hat-tricks is a near-impossible task, but Ronaldo made it look easy, as usual. Real Madrid went on to win the Champions League that year, making them very worthy winners.
