20.12.2020 » Parma 0-4 Juventus. Ronaldo responds with two more goals!

Ronaldo decisive in Juventus win over Parma

Juventus delivered the best answer possible following their disappointing performance in mid-week and made easy work of Parma tonight, beating the local side by 4-0. Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals and led the charge at the Ennio Tardini.

The awful display against Atalanta last Wednesday gave the Italian champions no other option but to make a strong statement in their following match. The unlucky opponent on the schedule was Ennio Tardini, who had to deal with a very intense and determined Juventus side, delivering what was probably one of the best performances of the season under Andrea Pirlo's orders. And if you thought the Italian champions were going to slip again and got into soccer betting before this game, you probably got it wrong! Cristiano Ronaldo was the man of the match, helping his team team securing a comfortable 4-0 win with another 2 goals to his record. That's now 12 goals for the Portuguese forward in the Serie A, who leads the league's top scorer standings.

The kind of performance we were all waiting for...

The Italian champions finally showed their best version of the season, running over Parma away from home and relying on the goals scored by their two centre forwards, Cristiano Ronaldo and Álvaro Morata. It's true Kulusevski also scored a goal tonight, but it was the attacking partnership between Ronaldo and Morata that really made the diference this Sunday night.

With Dybala out of the equation for tonight's game due to a minor injury, Andrea Pirlo didn't hesitate in playing his two main forwards, Ronaldo and Morata. Together, the two players have already scored a total of 26 goals this season, 16 of these being scored in the Serie A.

Nevertheless, the opening goal was scored by Kulusevski, who finished off a low cross from Alex Sandro with a clean left-footed strike. The Swedish has lost some space in the team mostly due to the rise of Federico Chiesa, but tonight he made sure he would grab the opportunity to tell Pirlo that he can also count on him for the the upcoming months.

Ronaldo and Morata lead the way...

Unlike in many other games we've seen this season, Juventus didn't slow the pace after they got in front and whenever that happens, they definitely increase their chances to come out with a good result. Tonight, that "cushion goal" only took 3 minutes to take place and it would be Morata assisting Ronaldo for another perfect header from the 35-year old forward. The cross was nothing less than spectacular as well, showing off the great understanding on the pitch between these two Juventus players.

Half-time would arrive with no more changes on the scoreboard and with Juventus comfortably leading by two goals to nil. And as soon as the game resumed for the second half, Cristiano Ronaldo managed to get in the scoresheet for the second time on the night, this time by beating Parma's goalkeeper with a well-placed low shot into the bottom corner. That was Ronaldo's 12th goal in the league and his 16th in all competitions this season.

The game wouldn't be over without Álvaro Morata getting his chance to also write his name on the scoresheet and the Spanish forward finally found the path to goal in the 85th minute. The assist was delivered by Bernardeschi, whose cross was headed in great style by Morata and only stopped in the back of the net. After so many goals ruled out for offside in recent weeks, this time the former Real Madrid striker was happy to add another goal to his record and not see the VAR rule it out instants later...
