02.12.2020 » Juventus 3-0 Dynamo Kiev. Ronaldo joins the party and scores again!

Ronaldo hugging Morata and Chiesa in Juventus

Juventus grabbed their fourth win in the Champions League this season, after beating Dynamo Kiev by 3-0, with goals from Chiesa, Cristiano Ronaldo and Morata. The Portuguese star scored his 2nd goal in the competition...

There wasn't much to fight for tonight in Turin, as Juventus had already secured their presence in the Champions League knockout stages since last week and are now simply trying to steal Barcelona's top spot in the group. Their opponents tonight, Dynamo Kiev, still have hopes to qualify to the Europa League, but they delayed all decisions to the last round, when they face Ferencvaros at home, in Ukraine. This Wednesday, the Italian champions made easy work of Dynamo and earned a 3-0 win over the Ukrainian side, thanks to a goal from Chiesa in the first half, followed by goals from Ronaldo and Morata in the second half. The Vecchia Signora will face Barcelona next week and the two teams will play for the top spot of the group.

Maintaining the form in Europe...

Juventus' form this season has been quite unstable and the best way to prove such a claim is to simply point out that their best winning streak so far crashed after a second win. Pirlo is yet to find the perfect formula for this group of players and if things have been going well for the Bianconeri in Europe, the same can't be said about their campaign in the Serie A...

Following another disappointing result in the Serie A this past weekend, Pirlo didn't risk rotating most of his players tonight and even brought out some of the big guns he has at his disposal for this clash. After resting against Benevento last Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the starting lineup, next to his best partner in crime this season, Álvaro Morata. In Juve's midfield, the headlines should go to Federico Chiesa, who seems to be improving game after game and delivered another great performance for the Italian champions.

And it was precisely Chiesa who broke the opponent's resistance in the first half, when a good cross from Alex Sandro on the left found the 23-year old inside Dynamo's box and in a good position to head the ball. His movement and finish were flawless and the ball only stopped on the back of the net, giving Juventus the first lead of the night. This was also Chiesa's first goal ever in the UEFA Champions League, but hopefully the first of many...

Ronaldo leaves his mark with another goal...

If the first half still showed us a Dynamo side well organized on the field and actually making things difficult for Juventus, the same can't be said about the second period, especially after the Bianconeri scored their second goal on the night, in the 57th minute.

Once again, Chiesa made the difference in Juve's attack when he beat one of his opponents with his fast pace, just before crossing the ball to Álvaro Morata, who was waiting for the pass in the centre of the box. The Spanish forward's touch got blocked by the goalkeeper, but the ball rebounded to the far post, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo with the easy task of pushing it to the back of the net to confirm Juventus' 2-goal lead.

The third and last goal of the night was scored by Álvaro Morata, in the 66th minute of the game. The Spanish striker showed all his class and composure when he worked inside the box to beat a defender and get enough room to finish the play with his right foot. It was Morata's 6th goal in the UEFA Champions League this season and he's now the competition's top scorer, tied with Borussia Dortmund's striker, Erling Haaland.
