No one was expecting that Juventus would go through such a difficult game tonight, especially after having beaten this very same side by 4-1, just roughly 3 weeks ago. This Tuesday, Ferencvaros tried to surprise Juventus in Turin and if it wasn't for Cristiano Ronaldo's superb goal in the first half and late Álvaro Morata goal in the second half, we could be talking about a shocking result. Nevertheless, the Vecchia Signora managed to beat Ferencvaros for a second time in a row in the competition and have already secured their presence in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League this season. On the other game of the group, Barcelona made easy work Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine, beating the hosts by 4 goals without response...

The Hungarians drew the first blood...
Juventus earned their 4th win in their last 5 matches in all competitions and their second straight win against Ferencvaros in the Champions League. They were huge favorites ahead of tonight's clash, but the visitors were determined to make things hard for the Italian champions and forced Andrea Pirlo's men to chase the result until the last minute of the game.
The Bianconeri played with Szczesny in goal and a back four formed by Alex Sandro, Cuadrado, Danilo and De Ligt. It was a very unusual defense, with Juve not lining up any Italian defender for the first time in many years... In midfield, Pirlo relied again on Arthur and Bernardeschi, but decided to play with McKennie and Bentancur next to them. In attack, Paulo Dybala replaced Morata and partenered up with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ferencvaros started this game on a strong note, showing the hosts that they didn't travel to Italy just to be their punching bag. After a few minutes with the two sides trying to adjust to each other on the pitch, the Hungarian side managed to capitalize on a Juve's mistake and made the Italian champions pay for it. Danilo, who was playing in the center of the defense tonight, slipped in a dangerous situation and allowed Ferencvaros to immediately charge into the box. Tokmac Ngueh found Myrto Uzuni inside the box and the Albanian hit the back of the net, to give his side the early lead.

The home side were having a lot more ball than their opponent, but they were clearly struggling to create good scoring chances, which inevitably started frustrating some of their players. And whenever the team needs someone to step up and shake things up, Cristiano Ronaldo never disappoints his teammates. The Portuguese forward, who had failed to score in these teams' last meeting in Hungary on November 4, tonight made sure his name would make it into the scoresheet...
In the 35th minute of the game, Ronaldo showed the Hungarian side why he is the competition's all-time top scorer and scored the equalizer with a powerful shot from outside the box. What's even more incredible about it is that the Portuguese used his left foot, his weaker foot, to strike the ball and almost tearing the back of the net! An outstanding goal from the 35-year old forward, who equalized the game and scored his 8th goal in his 7th appearance of the season for the Vecchia Signora.
Those who may have thought that the game would be easier after Ronaldo's goal, were basically wrong about their predictions. Juventus kept struggling a lot to break a very organized Ferencvaros side and the fans had to wait until the 92nd minute in order to see the hosts taking the lead and collecting the 3 points. The hero tonight was Álvaro Morata, who finished off a perfect cross from Cuadrado with a header, beating the Hungarians' goalkeeper and setting the final in 2-1 favorable to the Bianconeri.
