Portugal may be undervalued in the betting odds for EURO 2020 this year, with 16/1 available for Santos' men to defend their title. There are seven countries deemed to be more likely to win the tournament despite the fact Portugal have already shown they can win it.
Can Ronaldo win another Ballon d'Or?
Ronaldo's great rival Lionel Messi moved ahead in their individual battle by claiming his sixth Ballon d'Or, a record tally that the Portuguese will no doubt be aiming to match in 2020.
While it is still far too early in the year to be considering the contenders for the award, Messi and Ronaldo are again likely to be the front-runners along with players like Kylian Mbappe.
How Portugal perform at the EURO 2020 could have a big impact on Ronaldo's chances and if Juventus were to win the Champions League, this could build a big case for him to win too.
At 4/1 in the betting odds for the 2020 Ballon d'Or, the bookmakers initially have Messi as the favourite, with Man City's Kevin De Bruyne among the other names in the frame, alongside Liverpool stars such as Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, who was in the mix last year.
