Many have seen his move to Juventus as a step-down – a move to a less competitive league. This has not been the case. He has appeared to have found another gear and still has a point to prove. Despite winning 5 Champions League titles, league titles, domestic cups and the European Championships with Portugal - It would seem that the Portuguese hunger for success has not waned! He is also chasing the record for the most international goals scored by a player. He recently scored a hat-trick against Lithuania to take his tally to 96 goals for Portugal. The record is held by Iranian international Ali Daei – who managed 109 goals for Iran throughout his career. So, Ronaldo may edge closer to this record over this summer's European Championships.

It's not surprising that Ronaldo's goal-scoring rate for Portugal has improved in recent years. This is all down to the system that Portugal coach Fernando Santos has developed with his squad. He has chosen to place Ronaldo the spearhead of his attack. He has also placed players with bags of talent and creativity around Ronaldo to provide him with opportunities. Given his ability to break records, it will not be surprising if Ronaldo manages to go beyond Daeis' record!

He has his own specialized routines that he has developed with his personal trainer. Even at this stage of his career, he continues to set the standards.
What next for Ronaldo? The question is, can he push the boundaries further and win a Champions League title with Juventus – completing a grand slam that includes England, Spain, and Italy? Then, it will be off to defend Portugal's European title in the European Championships. If he can do all of this, it will cement his place as one of the world's greatest footballers to ever have played the game. Will we ever see a player like him again?
