Juventus were surprised at home this Sunday morning, as they hosted Sassuolo and couldn't go beyond a 2-2 draw against the visitors. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the last goal in this game from the penalty spot, but the champions lost 2 points in the title race...

We can't say we didn't see this coming... Juventus have once again struggled in a Serie A game, but this time there was no savior showing up to rescue the win and the Italian champions dropped 2 important points in the title race against Inter Milan. Today's 2-2 draw against Sassuolo allowed Inter to steal the top spot in the Serie A table and the Vecchia Signora need to realize before it's too late that they are not competing in a minor league like the Liga Indonesia and simply start performing a lot better than they have in the past. Several changes broke the team's chemistry

It's been a recurrent episode in Juventus' campaign this season. The Italian giants go into every game labelled as favorites, but for one reason or another, they fail to dominate their opponents and grab a comfortable win. The first half was very even, with both sides creating good chances to score. The hosts would be the first ones to crack into the scoring column, when Leonardo Bonucci decided to go forward and strike a low shot from just outside the box to beat Stefano Turati for the first time on the night. The champions' joy didn't last long though, as just two minutes later, in the 22nd minute, Jérémie Boga made things level with a superb finish by lobbing the ball over Buffon. Back to square one!

It's hard to describe everything that led to Sassuolo's second goal in this game, but if we stick to a factual analysis, Cuadrado, De Ligt and Buffon all messed up in different actions on the pitch and the result was another goal conceded. First, Cuadrado played a suicidal pass-back, leaving De Lidt in a tough spot. The Dutch defender, who costed the Bianconeri 75 million euros in the summer, made a poor clearance and delivered the ball to Sassuolo's forward, Francesco Caputo. The Italian forward didn't lose time to prepare his shot and try his luck, hoping to surprise a very experienced Gianluigi Buffon. However, Ronaldo's goal didn't really scare Sassuolo and the visitors held on for the final 20 minutes and were happy to take a single point from this game. Next weekend Juventus returns to action against Lazio, hoping to regain the leadership in the Serie A.
